I'm into odd crafts.

I like making things with my hands.

From fun little projects out of scraps  like a squirrel picnic table.

to rebuilding  130 year old wood burning cook stoves and everything in between.

If you see a project that you have questions about please feel free to give me a shout.

Hot Wheels, Epoxy, Coffee Table              For our deck out at the camper

I started by drilling out the rivets on each car.  Then drilling out each headlight and taillight.    To make the red taillights i used a small  drop of hot glue and a red  felt pen.    Cars were wired then glued down to plywood base and  lights tested then cars reassembled.    built a frame / mold around  the plywood.    Next came 5 pours of about 1/4" each .

I finished off by polishing the edges and top with a fine polishing compound.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out

While its far from perfect i learned alot in the process and we have a cool conversation piece out on our deck .

Some of my toys.

I collect the ones that I like.

I open and check them out.

They are after all toys,

This crane was almost 7' tall.  Too tall to display anywhere.  So it got shortened up by 3 mast sections and now is just under 5 foot tall.

Everything on the crane works, There are 4 different drums turned by very small screw drivers that work both winch lines and the angle of the two sections of boom

My Great Grandfathers Cook Stove out of his  old house that he lived in from around 1913 to 1975

I went out in about 2016 and dug the old stove out of the house scared that the old house was going to fall in on its self.

This stove was forged in 1896 in Chicago.

It took many hours of grinding and wire brush work to get all the layers of grease, soot, and grime off of it.

Every part of the stove was taken apart, checked for cracks, thin spots and damage .

repainted or had the Nickel plating re done.

The Nickel plating all redone.

Some of the cast iron painted and ready to be put back together

My old farm stove today !

Love it.

This is a Rocking Pig I built over 30 years ago.  Its  solid wood and can handle a 300 pound adult no problen .

The original paint job was done by a friend who had asked me to build it.             It has been rebuilt and repainted.       This was due to a youngster getting going too hard and fast.                      The Pig   Had a roll over,   two broken legs a broken ear and a broken bow.       The child faired better with a black eye and a bump on the head.

Due to life constantly changing  The Rocking Pig is now  living at a friends house entertaining his grand children  and I plan to keep moving it to where it can be enjoyed

I made this Frisbee target game for camping a few years ago.

Talk about frustrating.

Keeps people busy though.

The cut outs are big enough to get the Frisbee threw.

But the shapes and colours are distracting and make things harder.

I have 2   I-bolts about a foot down from the top one on each side with 6 foot long  3/8" rods to pound into the ground  to make a stand.

Our 2004 Chevy Avalanche

As an Electrician I am always on the road.   We bought it in 2006  as a lease back that still had a touch of factory warranty  left on it

It's now April of 2023 and its still my daily driver.

This one is from a work camp up

Fort McMurray way.

After a Two week stint in camp if the roads are open  then I'm headed home.

Even if I need to push my way out to the high way for the 7.5 hour trip home.

Photo Gallery

This trip  I stopped for gas 1/2 way to Fort McMurray  and found that my wheel wells were so full of ice that my wheels had a hard time turning left or right.

It really is fun working up there.

Just another day

and another trip up north to camp

But she cleans up pretty good  for my days off.

I made these Service posts for camping.

And they have been so much fun.

They make some people mad and others laugh.

They are just a scrap length of landscape tie.

With a foot long rebar in the bottom so it will stand up.

Then a number, and a water valve, and a plug in.

This is the pinterest picture that gave me the idea.

We had a aunty Ask us why we thought we were so importand as to take the only plug in at a family reunion.

Had fun with that one .

We have had other campers wait for us to pack up and pull out only to find we took our power and water with us.

A Train flower planter I made using some fire wood  my chainsaw and a

$ 4  solar light from Walmart.

The light was removed from its housing to make a working headlight on the train.

Placed just off to the side of our front step looking toward the street.

A couple years ago we went on a Mexican Cruise and stopped in

Los Cabos   while we were there we went on a snorkeling trip .

We were out in this tiny sailboat that held 16 plus 3 crew and the whales  were playing all around us.

For an animal the size and weight of a Semi hauling a B-Train.

Very impressive

Photo Gallery

We have been out on whale watching trips before  where we paid good money to see seals and sea gulls.

So we were very impressed  with

Los Cabos in December.

Would do it again ,

but maybe on a larger boat.
